The volume of China's economy by the end of 2022 amounted to 120 trillion 472.4 billion yuan ($17 trillion), according to the final data of the country's State Statistical Office. This is 548.3 billion yuan below the preliminary estimate. The estimate of China's GDP growth last year remained at 3%, as previously announced. Annual GDP is calculated twice: a preliminary estimate for the previous year is published in January of this year, and the final result becomes known in January of next year. In the three quarters of 2023, the Chinese economy grew by 5.2% compared to the same period last year. Beijing plans to achieve economic growth of about 5% this year.
