ЕС и Великобритании объявили о заключении соглашения о будущих отношениях после Brexit. В документе подчеркивается, что Лондон и Брюссель подписали «торговое соглашение, основанное на нулевых пошлинах и нулевых квотах».

Глава Еврокомиссии Урсула фон дер Ляйен заявила на сегодняшней пресс-конференции, что долгая работа наконец привела к хорошему результату. По ее словам, сделка отвечает интересам Евросоюза в сфере обеспечения честной конкуренции и предсказуемости в области рыболовства.

Великобритания, со своей стороны, заявила, что после Brexit она вернет себе контроль над границей, торговлей, судебной системой и рыболовными водами.

В конце 2020 года истекает переходный период процесса выхода из Великобритании из ЕС, за время которого стороны должны были договориться о принципах дальнейших отношений в самых разных сферах.
