According to trading data on Wednesday, major Wall Street index futures are rising, predicting the resumption of the New Year rally. In particular, futures for the Dow Jones industrial index increased to 36.398.21 points, futures for the NASDAQ index of high-tech companies rose to 16.526.5 points, futures for the S&P 500 broad market index – to 4.786 points. The day before, two of these three indices symbolically declined, but the growth of futures today predicts the continuation of the Christmas and New Year rally. At the end of the year, investors assess the prospects for the development of the economy, the main risk factor for which remains the new strain of the omicron coronavirus. However, many tend to assess the epidemiological situation with great positivity, starting to accept the inevitability of the appearance of new strains. Moreover, the first hype around the new strain has subsided, showing that omicron is significantly less dangerous than its predecessors. In general, on the eve of the New Year, the volume of trading in the markets is reduced.
