Investor confidence in the German economy significantly strengthened in June, which was reflected in a significant increase in the ZEW index. The indicator reached 47.5 points, jumping from the level of 25.2 points recorded in May. This growth turned out to be significantly higher than experts' expectations. Earlier, analysts predicted that the value would reach only 35 points. The index, reflecting the current state of the German economy, also showed positive dynamics, rising to minus 72 points compared with minus 82 points a month earlier. This result turned out to be better than the minus 77 points predicted by analysts. In the eurozone, the situation looked no less optimistic. The indicator of economic expectations in the region increased to 35.3 points, whereas in May it was only 11.6 points. This result also exceeded the forecast of 23.5 points. The assessment of the current economic situation in the eurozone has improved, rising to minus 30.7 points from the previous value of minus 42.4 points.
