Ethereum records a record number of transactions

On June 26, 1.75 million transactions were registered on the Ethereum network, which is the highest figure since January 2024. Since the beginning of May, user activity in the second largest blockchain has been steadily increasing, and by the end of the month, the number of transactions reached 41.98 million. According to experts, May turned out to be the second most successful month in the history of the platform and became the most productive since May 2021.

The main driver of this sharp increase is the increased interest in stablecoins, the volume of transactions with which has increased significantly in recent months. According to analysts, exactly half of all stablecoins issued over the past month were on Ethereum.

However, such a significant surge in transactional activity practically did not affect the value of ETH. The price of the asset is still about 50% below its historical maximum of $4,9 thousand, reached in November 2024. Since the beginning of this year, ETH has also shown negative dynamics, losing about 27% compared to January values. According to trading data on June 27, the value of the token was about $2.44 thousand.
