The trade turnover between Russia and China increased by 4.7% in January-April this year, according to the data of the General Customs Administration of China. The total volume of trade turnover for the specified period amounted to $76.58 billion. Imports of goods from Russia to China increased by 10.2% in the first four months of this year, reaching $43.85 billion. While China's exports to Russia decreased by 1.9%, amounting to $32.73 billion. Earlier in March, it was reported that China's exports to Russia had decreased by 16% this month, which was associated with the growing threat of sanctions from the United States. In early March, the State Technical University of China noted that in January-February, trade turnover with Russia increased by 9.3%, reaching $37.01 billion. In general, in 2023, the trade turnover between the two countries increased by 26.3%, reaching a record $240.11 billion. In the first quarter of 2024, trade turnover amounted to $56.68 billion, which is 5.2% more than in the same period of the previous year. China imported goods from Russia worth $24.428 billion (+2.6%), while Russia exported goods to China worth $32.254 billion (+7.3%).
