On Wednesday, Donald Trump announced the completion of negotiations between the American and Chinese delegations on a trade agreement. Now the document is awaiting final approval at the highest level – it will be handled personally by Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. According to Trump's statements, an important part of the agreements will be the solution of the problem of supply of rare earth metals from China. Washington, in turn, will fulfill reciprocal obligations, including guarantees of the possibility of continuing education of Chinese students in higher education institutions in the United States. Trump also noted that the United States gets a significant advantage in the agreements, pointing to the agreed proportions of trade duties – 55% on Washington's side and only 10% in favor of China. He stressed the strong character of the bilateral relations, describing them as extremely successful.
