  • Starting from August 1, the United States will impose new duties against a number of countries. Washington announced the upcoming imposition of increased tariffs on 14 countries, including Japan, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Serbia and Thailand. President Trump signed a decree postponing the deadline for concluding trade agreements from July 9 to August 1.


  • The United States proposed to the EU to conclude an agreement on duties of 10% on all goods. The exception will be the «sensitive» categories – airplanes and alcohol. The EU hopes to conclude a preliminary trade agreement before July 9 in order to avoid tariff increases of up to 50% from August 1, the new date for the introduction of duties announced by Donald Trump.


  • Apple is accused of delaying the localization of production. According to former Trump trade adviser Peter Navarro, Tim Cook had asked for a delay in moving Apple's production facilities to the United States during Trump's first term. However, no significant progress has been made since then. Now corporations face 25% duties on products assembled outside the United States. This could lead to higher iPhone prices regardless of whether the company reschedules production or not.


  • Iran and the United States may start negotiations as early as next week. This was stated by President Trump's special representative Witkoff. Trump himself noted that he did not consider the need for a new military intervention against Iran likely. He also added that the states bordering Israel are actively contributing to the resettlement of Palestinians.
