In July, global crude steel production decreased by 1.3% year-on-year to 150.1 million tons, according to the World Steel Association.

China – the largest producer and consumer of metal, showed a sharper decline: steel output fell by 4% to 79.7 million tons.

The decline in China, which accounts for more than half of global production, has been a key factor in the global decline and reflects the ongoing adjustment in the steel industry.
