Earlier, Trump was criticized for regularly accusing the Fed, as well as for firing Erica Mcentarfer, head of the Bureau of Labor Market Statistics. The reason for her resignation was data showing a slow pace of employment growth in the country.

The president noted that he is already considering several candidates for the post of head of the Federal Reserve. This statement came after Adriana Kugler, a member of the Fed's board of governors, unexpectedly announced her resignation. Her term of office expired only in January, but her early release allowed Trump to speed up the process of finding a new leader who would be more in line with his economic priorities, including the desire to lower interest rates.
