Переговоры по NAFTA выявили первые разногласия

Первый этап переговоров об изменении условий NAFTA выявил некоторые разногласия сторон. Так, представители США предложили реализовывать значительную часть производства автомобилей и запчастей к ним именно в Соединенных Штатах. Однако Мексика и Канада, являясь остальными участниками Североамериканского соглашения о свободной торговле, не разделяют взглядов администрации Дональда Трампа на этот вопрос. 

Производители в автомобильной промышленности выступают против ужесточения существующих правил NAFTA. Напряженность переговоров о правилах происхождения продукции в автомобильной промышленности говорит о том, что стороны вряд ли смогут быстро и легко прийти к консенсусу в этом вопросе.  

Тем не менее, стороны стараются завершить процесс модернизации соглашения как можно быстрее – к началу 2018 года, когда в Мексике стартует национальная избирательная кампания. Следующий этап переговоров пройдет с 1 по 5 сентября в Мексике. Далее в сентябре состоится встреча стран-участниц соглашения в Канаде, а в октябре – вновь в США.
