Ситуация с коронавирусом в Китае продолжает доминировать в мировых новостях. Из-за легкого способа передачи вируса число заражений за две недели возросло с нескольких сотен до более 4000 человек (около 100 смертей). Кроме того, в США зарегистрировано несколько случаев, свидетельствующих о том, что вирус все еще распространяется.

Китайская экономика продолжает страдать из-за эпидемии, так как многие транспортные пассажирские и бизнес потоки остановлены, чтобы ограничить распространение вируса. Обычно в это время года экономика Китая растёт из-за празднования Нового года, но сейчас людей призывают оставаться дома и избегать поездок. Китайский юань подешевел до двухнедельного минимума относительно доллара США.

Фондовые рынки понемногу восстанавливаются от негатива. Индекс крупнейших американских компаний S&P 500 подорожал на 1%, европейский биржевой индекс Stoxx 600 также вырос на 0,86%.

Сегодня инвесторы будут с интересом следить за публикацией отчета о доходах корпорации Apple. Аналитики прогнозируют существенный рост прибыли на фоне недавнего запуска Apple TV. Кроме того, Федеральная резервная система начинает январское совещание по вопросам монетарной политики. Инвесторы не ждут каких-либо корректировок процентных ставок в ближайшее время.
