Руководство Сбербанка намерено вывести компанию на новый уровень развития, став одной из самых конкурентных компаний на мировом рынке цифровых компаний. На встрече с президентом России Владимиром Путиным глава банка Герман Греф заявил о создании новой гибкой банковской платформы, позволяющей работать в большем количестве сфер деятельности, а также предоставлять на рынок новые продукты в течение нескольких недель, а не лет, как было раньше. 

В рамках работы над инновационной платформой сотрудники кредитного учреждения перейдут на работу в режиме «agile» (семейство процессов разработки программного обеспечения на основе решений и принципов наиболее успешных компаний). Это предполагает тесное взаимодействие сотрудников разных уровней, самостоятельно определяющих приоритетные цели. 

Греф, являясь сторонником любых инновационных технологий, активно внедряет их в работу организации. К примеру, в Сбербанке широко применяется работа нейронных сетей, а также ведется продуктивная работа по внедрению технологии блокчейн. В диджитал-банкинге глава банка видит основное конкурентное преимущество в борьбе за лидерство на мировом рынке банковских услуг.
